Golf in Scotland
Earlier this year, my good friend, Steve Kupfer, invited me on a golf trip to Scotland. Though I hadn’t played the game in nearly six years, I quickly accepted. So, this past April, the two of us, along with Steve’s life-long friends, Mike and Matt, played seven rounds of golf over a period of five days in the “home of golf”. It was unbelievably fun.
The trip began in Aberdeen and ended in Glasgow. Along the way we played the Open Championship “rota” courses of Carnoustie, Muirfield, Turnberry, and The Old Course at St. Andrews, along with some other wonderfully quirky links courses. For a week, our lives consisted entirely of driving, eating, sleeping, and playing golf. Additionally, we were able to carve out a wee bit of time to sample some of the local whisky.
By the end of the week I couldn’t wait to get back to Scotland to play golf again, had made two new friends, and couldn’t stop thanking Steve for inviting me on this amazing trip. For anyone who enjoys the game, there’s truly nothing like a pilgrimage to the “home of golf”.
The following photographs were all taken with my iPhone. I lack the skills to both play golf and use a DSLR simultaneously.
